X-Air X Series made in New Zealand…
Why Stainless Steel?
It was the start of the season August 1999, a fresh springs day and not a hint of wind… the boat was just back from its yearly service…
The water was glass… the boys were keen to get out there…
I dived down beside the seat to look for the wakeboard pole. I knew it had been rattling around there somewhere over winter.
I pulled it out and handed it to Glen.
Glen said “Adam, all the powder coating’s falling off, what’s the story”
I jumped out of the boat cursing, “its only 6 months old”
But he was right... All that rattling around had damaged the powder coating letting the moisture in and the aluminium underneath was corroding…
- It just takes a slight dent in the powder coating for the moisture to get into the aluminium underneath.
- Even insects hitting the powder coated aluminium when the boat’s being towed can cause cracks to let the moisture in. Then its all over for the aluminium.
- Salt water… it all happens faster.
Stainless Steel the obvious choice…
